Authorised bio-preparations: Thailand
Thailand
Thailand: organic agriculture is governed by Thai Agricultural Standard TAS 9000 (National Bureau of Agricultural Commodity and Food Standards, ACFS), which accepts organic fertilisers, compost and fermented bio-extracts made on the farm and bans synthetic fertilisers and pesticides. The Land Development Department (LDD) supplies farmers with microbial activators (Super LDD) and recipes for bio-extracts and compost. The Fertilizer Act B.E. 2518 (amended 2007) requires organic and bio-fertilisers to be registered for sale; pesticides, including biological ones, are registered with the Department of Agriculture. A farmer who makes these recipes for their own farm, without selling or claiming certification, is not subject to these registrations.
