Authorised bio-preparations: Congo - Kinshasa
Congo - Kinshasa
Congo - Kinshasa: organic production is governed by an official text (East African Standard EAS 456:2025 "Organic production – Requirements" (East African Community; reference list: annex B of EAS 456:2007)). Member of the East African Community since 2022: declared East African Standards apply to the Partner States; national transposition has not been verified. Its list of permitted inputs includes, among others: compost, manure (not from factory farming), vermicompost, microbial preparations, plant preparations and extracts, neem, potassium soap, sulphur, lime sulphur, copper (Bordeaux mixture), with limits, slaked lime, bicarbonate, milk and dairy products, vinegar, fish meal and fish products, propolis, plant oils, wood ash, rock dust. This is a regional standard of the East African Community; its list is indicative: other substances meeting IFOAM or Codex criteria may be accepted. These rules apply to anyone selling certified organic products. A farmer who makes and uses these recipes on their own farm, without claiming certification, is not bound by them, but must comply with the general rules on fertilisers and pesticides.
