Yucca (Yucca schidigera) extract 🟠 Not prohibited
Adjuvant : wetting agent, emulsifier
Extract of the trunk of Yucca schidigera, a desert plant of Mexico and the south-western United States, rich in saponins.
Characteristics
- Saponins are molecules with one water-loving part and one fat-loving part.
- They lower the surface tension of water and foam.
- Work at the University of Hohenheim shows they stabilise oil-in-water emulsions.
Role in the preparation: Wetting agent and emulsifier: helps the liquid spread over the leaf and lets oil and water mix.
Caution: Prepare small amounts and use straight away, try it first on a few leaves and check local regulations before any use.
