Milky extract of ground barbasco roots and bark (Lonchocarpus nicou), an Amazonian plant containing rotenone, with biodegradable soap, documented in Ecuador.
Application description: Sprayed diluted every 5–7 days according to the source; tried on strawberry, rose and carnation.
Dose: 5–7 ml per litre of water; 1 L in 200 L of water for 1–1.5 ha.
Rotenone is toxic to fish, beneficial insects and people: gloves, goggles and mask; do not apply near watercourses. Rotenone is not approved in the EU nor allowed in most organic regulations. Keep for less than a month in dark bottles in a cool place. Before any use, check your country's regulations: in the EU, a homemade preparation presented for plant-protection use is not authorised.
1. Grind the roots and bark.
2. Mix with the 8 L of water.
3. Squeeze through flannel to obtain a milky extract.
4. Remove the coarse material and stir in the soap.
