Liquid extract of humic substances obtained from composted organic matter with potassium hydroxide, presented by the source as a potassium-rich biofertiliser that improves soil structure.
Application description: To the soil around the roots, or as a diluted foliar application (fruit trees, plantain), according to the source.
Dose: Soil: from 5% (10 L in 190 L of water), 1 to 3 L per tree depending on age. Foliar: 1 L per 200 L drum on fruit trees, up to 4 L per 200 L on plantain.
Potassium hydroxide is corrosive: gloves, goggles or face shield and long clothing are essential; always add the water gradually, away from children. Filter well before use so as not to clog nozzles.
1. Put on protective equipment (nitrile gloves, face shield with filter): potassium hydroxide is highly alkaline.
2. In a 200 L plastic drum, alternate layers of dry organic matter and hydroxide until both are used up, then mix dry.
3. Add water very slowly until the solids are covered: the reaction gives off heat. Leave for 24 hours.
4. The next day, top up with water to 100 L.
5. Stir morning and evening for four days.
6. On the fifth day, draw off the liquid from the top and filter it.
Goggles, gloves and mask required
About 5 days.
