Uruguay: organic production is governed by an official text (Decreto 175/022 y la Resolución DGSA 673/022 (listado de insumos)). Its list of permitted inputs includes, among others: copper (Bordeaux mixture), with limits, sulphur, neem, chitosan, plant oils. The official list mainly covers commercial products registered with the ministry. These rules apply to anyone selling certified organic products. A farmer who makes and uses these recipes on their own farm, without claiming certification, is not bound by them, but must comply with the general rules on fertilisers and pesticides.
