Dried or fresh aromatic plants

Aromatic plants, such as rosemary, thyme, mint, sage, basil or lavender, used dried or fresh.
Characteristics
- Contain volatile essential oils that give their characteristic scent.
- Aromatic compounds are concentrated in leaves, flowers, seeds or bark depending on the species.
- Many belong to the Lamiaceae (mint) family.
- Traditionally used in infusions, decoctions and plant macerations.
Role in the preparation: Provide plant material and aromatic compounds to infusions, decoctions or macerations.
Caution: Identify the species correctly, use plants free of chemical residues and do not handle pure essential oils without gloves, as they irritate the skin.
