Juice of young moringa shoots, highly diluted and sprayed on crops as a biostimulant. Protocol from the BIOMASA project (Nicaragua) circulated by ECHO; the leaves contain zeatin, a cytokinin.
Application description: Foliar spray at four times: 10 days after emergence, about 30 days before flowering, when seeds appear and during ripening.
Dose: Extract diluted 1:32; about 25 ml per plant per application.
Use the extract within 5 hours or freeze it. The pressed residue (12 to 14% protein) can be used as fodder. It complements, but does not replace, fertilisation, watering and good practice.
1. Grind the shoots with the litre of water.
2. Put the pulp in a cloth and wring out the liquid.
3. Dilute 1 part extract in 32 parts water just before spraying.
Under 1 hour.
Green liquid with a plant smell.
