Bio-preparations authorised in Brazil
Brazil
In Brazil, organic production is governed by Law 10.831/2003 and the technical regulations established by MAPA Ordinance 52/2021, whose Annex VII lists the substances permitted in organic crop production, subject to approval by the certification body (OAC or OCS). Decree 6.913/2009 exempts products approved for use in organic agriculture and manufactured solely for the farmer’s own use from registration requirements. The Ministry of Agriculture (MAPA) publishes agroecological fact sheets describing the preparation of several sprays (Bordeaux mixture, lime sulphur, “viçosa”).
